Stinky
I’d like to say that today’s installment was inspired by a comment left by reader Neutrino from last week about Ellie’s sense of smell. Unfortunately, as we know, all that you see unfolding before us has taken place eight years ago on a planet that same number of light years from here. So at best it’s a coincidence. A really super amazing coincidence.
It actually makes perfect sense: when she fell out of the ruptured airbags, she was able to test for herself the visible and infrared cameras, but not her olfactometer, as she had nothing to test it with.
Identifying a fizzy fruit as “Cat barf” is probably enough indication that it is working correctly though 🙂
As soon as I began reading today’s installment, I suspected it began with something I’d said. However, since I firmly believe nothing can travel faster-than-light, I have to accept Mission Control’s “it’s just a coincidence” explanation.
Hey! Just discovered your strip thanks to Denver Brubaker. I love this!!! Great drawings! Funny characters!
Love the look of your comic. It also plays on the character’s personalities in a great way. Amazing work.
@ Frank: Her “olfactometer” was actually working perfectly, even after Ellie crashed. She wasn’t actually testing it to see if it worked. I guess what I really wanted to get across was she was testing those things on her “nose” so we here on Earth would know approximately what they smelled like.
@ Neutrino: Maybe some sort of two-way temporal communication has been going on somewhere that we don’t know about.
@ John: Oh, wow, thanks! I love Chippy and Loopus too. I’m always a fan of comics by animation folk. Thanks for the compliments!
@ other Frank: Thanks! The feeling is mutual. I love your dynamic shapes and great line-work.
Uh-oh. Now there’s two Franks
Maybe you’ve been cloned!
