Sitting In On Spacetrawler

I’ve been a fan of Christopher Baldwin’s comics for a long time, first reading his strip Bruno years ago. Then I followed him as he moved on to the charming Little Dee. And now Christopher takes on sci fi and makes it his own thing with Spacetrawler, the funniest thing in space since The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy!

I was lucky enough to get to sit in for Christopher as he takes the week off, so go take a look at my interpretation of some of his characters and then head into his huuuge archive and get caught up. It looks like Spacetrawler‘s about to reach the climax in the series, so now’s a good time to jump on board!

Inspiration!

As an artist, I find inspiration from a lot of other artists that I really love. It couldn’t be more true in this case since this artist also happens to be my “special lady friend,” Azucena Nava-Moreno. We just finished setting up her brand new website which is full of wondrous things. Click on the pic below and go look. You’ll be amazed. And I ain’t just sayin’ that ’cause she’s my girlfriend.

Fan Art . . . Wednesday!

An amazing treat showed up in my mailbox today from Ellie reader Russell Hedges. A few weeks back he emailed me to ask if he could make an actual mission patch like the one posted under The Mission link at the top of the page. I gave him my blessing, along with that of the Strang Institute’s. It’s the coolest thing to have amazing and generous readers. Thanks, Russell!

Check it out!

The Egghead 2000

egghead2000

Not the most flattering of nicknames, the Strang Institute’s main computer CPU, the Egghead 2000,  received that handle back in the days when the number 2000 was meant to mean something was futuristic. The egghead part was meant as a bit of a joke that unfortunately stuck.

Built in the 1960s, unlike most of its contemporary supercomputers the EH2000 didn’t become obsolete. That’s because it works like a human brain, constantly learning and growing, using  technological secrets that the Institute keeps closely guarded (my security clearance doesn’t allow me access to that information).

Ellie’s central processing unit uses similar technology.
