On a more serious note, any electronic system needs air refrigeration, usually seen today as a fan behind a grate. If Ellie’s systems are like that, how does she keep water from getting into her circuits when stuff like that happens?

Ellie’s got a couple of vents for getting rid of unwanted heat. One around the bottom of her head where it meets her neck, and one just below her photovoltaic “skirt”. They both seal up if the environment becomes too liquidy.

I have used (and enjoyed using) numerous computers without active cooling. Of course, they had nothing like Ellie’s capabilities…
