Man of Steel, Girl of Titanium
Welcome to the last week of Ellie guest comics. Today’s comes to us from Tom Dell’Aringa, the brains and talent behind the brilliant operatic sci-fi comic Marooned!
I’ve gushed about Tom’s comic here several times before. It’s a great story that’s going to be wrapping up within the coming months. Plus, I owe it to Tom for pushing me along to get Ellie’s story to all of you. So please, if you haven’t, go read Marooned. And if you like it, Tom’s putting the finishing touches on a complete compendium of his comic. Keep checking back on his site for updates.
Good one! That’s that mystical combo of Andersonian cute-and-cool mixed with a little Wattersonian charm-and-awesome. Flowing from the pen of one Tom Dell’Aringa… OK. You guys got some magic beans out there in Chi-Town, or what!?
It’s a Chi-Town/Mo-Town double whammy of magic beans!
Ah, thanks Steve – but all the credit goes to Jim – I just copied him! 🙂
Yeah, whatever, Tom.
I love the first Panel! Also, you really captured great expressions through out the strip! Well Done!
Another great addition to a very cool series of guest comics. Well done, Tom!
Ah, the classic “all the good superpowers were taken” gag!
Man, wouldn’t it be dramatic if Earth really did blow up? I mean, Ellie would become the last being in the universe to represent her planet and all that cataloguing would be for naught considering there would be no humans to send them to. She would no longer be bound by any prime directive and would have to make a critical decision on what she would do with the rest of her existence…
Though, for the sake of Mission Control and everyone else on Earth, let’s just hope Cerebus Syndrome never kicks in.
I had to look up Cerebus Syndrome, thinking that you meant Cerberus, because what does an aardvark have to do with anything syndrome related? Lo and behold…it’s a thing. And it’s absolutely accurately named.
Yeah, I can’t imagine that happening.
By the way, growing up, Dave Sim was a big influence.
Funny, cute and great cartooning, Tom!
