As if the great Jay Fosgitt couldn’t get any greater. Now he’s illustrating My Little Pony for IDW. And he whipped up this fancy image of Ellie riding her very own pony at a comic signing yesterday. What little robot girl didn’t want a pony when she was young?

Ellie was representin’ at last weekend’s Kid’s Read Comics festival in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Here’s some pics!
Paul Fricke, who did an amazing guest comic for us last year, gave me a copy of his Troll Lords book along with this mighty awesome sketch in front:
Paul’s equally talented daughter made this incredible Ellie figure!
My pal Dennis stopped by with this fantastic homage to my college strip (which he often appeared in). Great Star Wars reference there.
And Dennis has a talented daughter who drew up this portrait of Ellie. Thanks, Al!
My convention tablemate Jay Fosgitt, creator of that other comic about trolls, Bodie Troll, sketched me as a robot and a viking!
And here’s my convention stash.
Saturday was Free Comic Book Day and I got to hang with a bunch of my favorite cartoonists. Jay Fosgitt of Bodie Troll fame traded some sketches with me and he drew his version of Ellie if she was a real girl (which I colored, per his request)! I’m digging her inline skates and her eye patch. Thanks Jay!
It’s a busy week coming up, so the next Ellie comic won’t arrive until Thursday. But here’s a little treat: Good friend of Mission Control, Jay Fosgitt, drew a little steam-punk Ellie in my sketchbook. And since it’s my sketchbook I decided to color it and share it with all of you! See you on Halloween for a brand new comic!
We’re running behind schedule with today’s comic. Instead, I’ll tell you the story of how Jay Fosgitt and I sat next to one another on Free Comic Book Day at Green Brain Comics in Dearborn, Michigan. And how Jay does this fantastic comic book called Bodie Troll, which is just flying off bookshelves. And also how he sketched out this amazing little drawing of Bodie and Ellie going for a spin (I love Ellie’s treads)!
And then how I scanned it in and colored it up just for fun.
Ellie’s next transmission will be showing up Tuesday morning. Maybe we’ll find out what the deal is with Muffin and the deep, deep hole he’s digging!
Hey, everybody! I just wanted to remind all of you that our good bud Jay Fosgitt’s new comic Bodie Troll is on sale and in stores now. Head on out to your favorite comic shop and pick up a copy. It’s a fun story about a little troll who just wants to be big and scary but falls way too short because he’s just too darn cute. And as a bonus, there’s a one page comic by yours truly in the back. Here’s a little snippet:
Today’s stupendous one panel comic was sent completely without my even asking from amazing artist Jay P. Fosgitt (who has one of the best cartoonists’ names, btw)!
Jay is the creator of a whole bunch of stuff, but most notably Dead Duck, an adultish comic about a…well…a dead duck and his compadre, Zombie Chick, who collect the souls of the recently deceased. It’s goofy fun. And most recently, he’s doing a comic called Bodie Troll, which you can read about on his blog. The first issue is due out any day now (I think) and I’m geeked to see it – partly because Jay’s a super talented storyteller and illustrator, but also because I did a one page pin up/strip for him that appears in the issue. I can’t wait to snag me a copy!
Just a reminder, I’ll be back from my little hiatus on the 22nd of April. I’ve still got a couple more incredible guest strips to share with you, plus some extra Ellie pin ups by some of my fellow comicking friends.
